Online launch for the Learning, Freedom & the Web ebook

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

How can the ideas of the open source movement help foster learning? What are the most effective ways to bring learning to everyone? How does openness help the spread of knowledge?

Those questions are at the core of Learning, Freedom and the Web, a new book by Anya Kamenetz and the participants of the 2010 Mozilla Festival.  You can help to answer these questions -- and ask more of your own -- in an online book launch on January 25, 2012, from 10-1 pm Pacific Time (1-4 pm EST). Join us for a conversation with author Anya Kamenetz, P2PU's Philipp Schmidt , and other learning innovators featured in the book. The ebook version was designed by Emily Carr students and is available as a free download on the Learning, Freedom and the Web site.

Your thoughts and questions will drive this conversation, so we want to hear from you! Tweet your questions or comments about the book with the hashtag #mozlearning, or write a blog post and tag it mozlearning. The most interesting tweets, posts and comments will receive a free printed copy of Learning, Freedom and the Web (value $50). Part exhibition catalog, part manifesto, the book is a concise, fun-to-read introduction to the future of learning on- and offline.

We hope you'll join us for an exciting conversation on January 25 at http://mozilla.bigbluebutton.org/ (For "room", choose "Mozilla", and for a "password", enter "mozilla". Enter whatever username you like.)

Please tweet or RSVP on our Facebook event page to tell the world you're going to be part of this conversation about the new face of learning.
