Glen Lowry

Associate Professor, Faculty of Culture + Community

Lowry received his PhD in English from Simon Fraser University and has published on Canadian Literature, 20th century culture & poetics (photography, film, and television). His recent work looks at new forms of cultural expression and social contexts by engaging collaborations among artist and academics, particularly around questions of globalization and urbanization. Lowry's research focuses on new media platforms linking scholars, artists, and audiences across cultural and geographical distances. Since 2002, he has edited West Coast Line. In 2009, he published Pacific Avenue, a book of poems.

Welcome to SIM Centre

The Social + Interactive Media Centre is a new research centre that supports a wide range of applied social, interactive and design projects. Funded by a 5-year grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the centre offers BC companies a way to tap the design, creative and technical expertise of Emily Carr faculty and students.
