Jill Silva

Social media intern

Jillian Silva is the voice behind many of the SIM Centre's tweets and blog posts, which she creates in her role as the Centre's social media intern. Jill is a 4th year student in Film, Video & Integrated Media (FVIM) at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She often ambles and rambles around the FVIM lounge, dabbling in video and sound excursions.  She was recently involved in the making of a series of short documentaries introducing the people of TRIUMF (a particle accelerator) at UBC with fellow 4th year, Phoebe Chard, which can be found on the TRIUMF YouTube channel for your viewing pleasure. Jill also lent her Twittering hand to the salivation-inducing project dubbed Eat Street, tweeting to the plugged-in masses about the street food revolution. Sometimes she can be seen telling jokes on a stage.  Outside of these things, she really likes the internet. For more on Jill's creative interests, check out this page.

Welcome to the SIM Centre

The Social + Interactive Media Centre is a new research centre that supports a wide range of applied social, interactive and design projects. Funded by a 5-year grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the centre offers BC companies a way to tap the design, creative and technical expertise of Emily Carr faculty and students.
